Trained originally as a poet and dancer, the arts have always felt like coming home to me. The immediacy of watercolors captures my imagination in a way that nothing else has-the way colors flow and mingle, the transparency and light of the medium, the joy of blooms, washes and splatters, the excitement of experiencing the world in colors and pigments.
I am a member of the Plein Air Painters of Idaho, the Idaho Watercolor Society, and the Treasure Valley Artist's Alliance. In my art, I create moments of delight and invitations to
reflection. I often create my art on location, fully soaking in the elements of the world around me as I paint and allowing the
sounds, movements, and changing light in the world to change how I paint it. Even when working from my home studio in
Nampa, I focus on compositions that create an immersive experience for my viewers- I invite them to join me in stepping
outside the flow of time for a moment, take a new perspective, and emerge with a lighter step in the world.
